“Richness isn’t found in wealth, as wealth can diminish. Nor is it found in beauty, for beauty fades with age. It’s found in good character and kind hearts. So treat people in such a way and live amongst them in such a manner that when you die, they make du’a for you, and when you’re alive, they benefit from you and they thank Allah Most High for having you in their life.”
” If you see God withholding this world from you, and inflicting more and more hardships and suffering upon you, you must therefore know that you are noble in His sight, that you hold a lofty rank in His presence, and that He is making you tread the path of His saintly friends, for He sees you and He does not need that (withholding of this world…). You have surely heard His saying: “So wait patiently for your Lord’s decree, for you are surely in Our sight” (52:48)”
~ Imam al-Ghazali (May Allah increase his rank)
“And We have not sent you except as a mercy to all the worlds.” (Quran: 21:107) ”
‘Verily, Allah and His Angels send blessings on the Prophet: O you who believe! Send blessings on him, and salute him with a worthy salutation.’ Qur’an 33:56
O Allah! Bless our Master Muhammad and his family just as You blessed our master Abraham and sanctify our master Muhammad and his wives and descendants just as You sanctified our master Abraham, for You are the Praiseworthy, the Mighty!
O Allah! Unite us with him for we have believed in him without seeing him, do not separate us from him until the day you cause us to enter into his entrance hall, water us at his pool, and put us in his company along with those favored ones, and what a beautiful company that is!
And praise be to Allah, the Lord of the Worlds!
~ Dala’il al-Khayrat
“The degree to which a person is helped and aided by Allah depends on the degree of his intention, drive, aim, and hopes.
Help from Allah comes to people in proportion to their drive, intention, hopes, and fears; and failure comes to them in like manner.”
~Ibn al-Qayyim (may Allah have mercy on him)
Patience is a type of courage. One of the gifts of those who show patience in this world, are freed in the next. When everyone else is in a state of anxiety on the day of judgment, these people will be in a state of sakina (peace) because Allah has promised them that…..
Shaykh Hamza Yusuf (May Allah preserve him)
“Bad things do happen; how I respond to them defines my character and the quality of my life. I can choose to sit in perpetual sadness, immobilized by the gravity of my loss, or I can choose to rise from the pain and treasure the most precious gift I have- life itself”
~ Walter Anderson
“If you do not know the blessings you have when you have them, then Allah will teach you about them by taking them away from you”
~ Ibn Ata’Allah al- Iskandari
“O Allah! I have believed in our master Muhammad and I have not seen him, so do not deprive my heart of a vision of him and provide me with his companionship and have me die on his way and lead me to drink from his pool plentifully, blissfully, heartily, a drink after which we will never feel thirst, for You are the Power of all things!”
~ Dala’il al-khayrat
“Allah loveth the good; And those who, when they do an evil thing or wrong themselves, remember Allah and implore forgiveness for their sins – Who forgiveth sins save Allah only? – and will not knowingly repeat (the wrong) they did. (Qur’an 3:134-5)
We are in the second (middle) part of the blessed month of Ramadan which are the days of forgiveness. A reminder to myself first and foremost that we should try and seek the forgiveness of Allah subhanahu wa ta’ala in abundance. As a beautiful friend said the other day “Life is very short, who knows if another Ramadan has been destined for us…………”
Our beloved Prophet salla’Allahu ‘alayhi wasalam said:
“Allah is more pleased with the repentance of His salve than any one of you is pleased by finding his camel, lost in the desert”.
And in another hadith:
“The best of sinners are those who repent”
Allahumma innaka `afuwwun tuhibbul `afwa fa`fu `annaa – O Allah! You are forgiving, and you love forgiveness. So forgive us!
“Sit with those of this world, and you become a speck in its sea. Sit with those of Allah, and the world becomes a speck in your sea.”
