In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful. All praise be to Allah, Lord of the worlds, and peace and blessings be upon His Messenger Muhammad, mercy to the worlds.
As-salamu’alaykum wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuhu!
“ Allah subhanahu wa’ tala says, ‘On that day nothing will benefit the human being, neither wealth nor children, only the one who brings Allah a sound heart.’ A sound heart is one that is free of defects and spiritual blemishes. Though the spiritual heart is centred in the physical heart, the heart being referred to here is the spiritual heart, not the physical heart”
~ Shaykh Hamza Yusuf
Possessing a sound heart is something we all aspire to accomplish, and we’re constantly working on it for a significant period of our lives; in fact, most of our life is spent on trying to purify the heart. It’s a tough battle, and we often find ourselves trapped within the shackles of this life; struggling to overcome and deal with tests and tribulations; engaged in futile thoughts, words and actions. We begin to fear, lose hope and motivation to achieve our aspirations; transgress ourselves to fulfill our selfish desires, thus setting up obstacles and slowing down the process of achieving a “sound heart”.
Life is not always meant to be easy, and it’s the heart that feels the impact of the state we find ourselves in. We constantly need reminders which provide us with hope, inspiration and contentment so that we can “heal” our hearts, and strive to achieve our goals/aspirations. The best remedy to heal the agitated or broken heart is with the remembrance of the One Most High. As He subhanahu wa tala says:
Verily in the remembrance of Allah do hearts find rest. [13:28]
This blog is a platform for me to share and reflect on any poignant and interesting quotes, poems, stories etc which I come across and find inspiring; all of which shall be reminders for us all (myself first and foremost!), and a means of bringing solace, comfort and joy to our hearts. In addition, I will endeavour to share notes from events and courses, and some of my travel stories.
May this blog benefit us all, and may our hearts be healed with His remembrance. May we all be granted husn al-khatima (a good ending) and depart from this world with a sound heart. Amin!
In need of your prayers.
Yours in peace,
Sidra Mushtaq

As-salaamu alaikum warahmatullahi wabarakatuhu
Lets not forget our brothers and sisters all over the world and the hardship they have to go through. Is there any justice in todays world when a human being believes in God and his beloved prophets and is persecuted for it very harshly. Where are the good people in the world who used to stand up for one another. Where are the Salah Uddin’s of the world today? We need to change the way we eat, sleep and think as the situation for muslims all over the world is becoming worse day by day. We need to give up our time for the sake of Allah (swt) and the beautiful deen he has bestowed upon us. We should stop drinking our teas and watching eastenders and chat shows and start acting. Is there room in Paradise for slackers?
Please take 5 minutes out and make dua for the muslims around the world as they to are our brothers and sisters and for as long as Allah wills us to live we should have ‘lâ ilâha illâ allâh’ engraved in our hearts and minds always.
Verily our return is to Allah (swt) and none other is worthy of worship except Allah alone.
I make dua for all the muslims around the world and plead with Allah to awaken this beautiful ummah and let us unite and be one and together we shall enter Paradise on the day which many do not accept will come.
Allah (swt) is the best of planners so all praise and due to be Allah (swt) and may he forgive us of our sins and take away our pain and hardship. Ameen

Hi Piter,
Many thanks for your kind comments and taking the time out to visit my blog! The reason behind the blog: Ermmm…… good question! 🙂 I don’t want to get too deep into the reason behind starting the blog as I would be here forever writing…but in a nutshell, I just wanted a space where I could post and share quotes/stories/advice which helped/inpired me. My main intention is for people to feel inspired and benefit from what I post, if Allah wills.
Hope this answers your question!
Peace 🙂

Assalaamu Alaykum Warahmatullahi Wabarakatuhu
Thanks Sidra for sharing your blog with the rest of us. I understand from reading your comments here that the reason you made this blog is to as you said “I just wanted a space where I could post and share quotes/stories/advice which helped/inpired me. My main intention is for people to feel inspired and benefit from what I post, if Allah wills.” I like that. And what I have read so far it is inspiring and positive. In which I think we all need more positive stories, quotes, etc. especially when we live in a world where there seems to be so much negativity. I love the title of your blog as well it sums it up in a nutshell and tells us the readers what your intention of the blog is which is to help inspire and heal hearts spiritually. Thanks for your blog. Jazakallah Khairan.

May Allah bless and reward you for your kind words. Thank you so much for such a positive, encouraging and heart-warming message. Its all barakah from Allah, so anything good you like and have benefited from, its all from Him Most High. This life is a journey, A very long and tough one with so many hard and painful turnings, mysteries, blesses, wonders, joys! It can all be so overwhelming, so as brothers and sisters in this beautiful religion, we strive to help each other with whatever we can to get each other through this life and onto the next.
Again, thank you so much for visiting the blog, and may Allah always be with you and protect you.

The Illuminated Mercy of Man
Blessed be him, the Shinning Tree of Light
A Lamp with no bulb, though illuminates with Flight
Creation at its Best, Smile opens any closed doors of depression…
Which gave warm peace to cold wars
Firm with Law, Comforting in Purifying the inner souls, both dealt Merciful
Gazing through nature’s landscape, imagine his handshake
Eyes that could level you with love, care, and Brotherhood
His love for us is beyond deep, greatly above motherhood
Water in his palm would be proud to be held
Would flowers grin in joy were he nose to smell?
Teeth in his mouth, resembling pearls in line
Did they feel at bliss being a tool for words of “The Sublime”?
No friend of “The Ever” revealed would reach his knowledge and understanding
All books would be envious they weren’t revealed through him
Words of “The Ever”, the only message built for greatness of man to ponder wise
To him be blessings with peace, his company, and kin

Soaidah Akabor
As salaamu alaikum Sidra..Just would like to share with you this beautiful poem that I wrote in Rabi ul Awwal, to represent the love I had for our Beloved Mustufa Sal lal laahu alayhi wa salam…
Rangreza (The One who infuses me with Colour)
Is it because of your affection for Imam Hassan (Radi Allahu Anhu) and Imam Husayn (Radi Allahu Anhu)
that I weep endlessly?
Or is it because the entire Universes were created out of your Nur
That dewdrops fall upon rosy petals of red velvet?
Oh, Rangreza (Sal lallaahu Alayhi was salam), -the one who infuses me with color
Paint my body and my spirit
Take away the shades from my heart and soul
My living corpse is blessed with the embellishments of every sunrise
Even though the fire of my existence is as black as the midnight coal
I live only for the ray of light flowing from you
Oh Adored One of Allah (Sal lalaahu Alayhi was salam), you are the Envoy of the Almighty Creator
You are the one elected by the Holy Lord of the Worlds, who is without Comparison
You are the Pride of the Lord Allah and the highest Shams of fashioned beings,
You are the warmth of Allah at daybreak
You came after the suffering as a mercy to mankind
Every living heart pulsates for your love
This earth was a darkened abyss without you
Oh Holy Love of Mine (Sal lalaahu Alayhi was salam), peace be upon you,
Our Allah elevated your status
Oh Noble Seal of all the Prophets (Sal lallaahu Alayhi was salam)
You are the shimmer of Allah’s Messengers
You are the sheen of our eyes
Oh, Habibullah (Sal lallaahu Alayhi was salam), You were yearned for before any thoughts of creation-
a desire of the Divine Allah.
Oh Naji ullah (Sal lallaahu Alayhi was salam) you were born as the beloved,
You were created to be loved,
you were made out of empathy and compassion
You and your shadowless aura
are eternally infused in our world.
You are that magnificent blossom of paradise
In the Heavenly Gardens I perceive your eyes.
In your eyes, I witness the Flowering Landscapes
From the perfume of your love,
the Universe and the skies have flourished
and rainfalls of Grace have cascaded upon us.
Oh Rasool-Allah (Sal lallaahu Alayhi was salam), my life and soul is for you
You are the chaste orchid of the Seventh Paradise
You are the spring of sacred wisdom
You are diamond drops of honeyed rain-
the Prince of Al-Firdaus.
From you blessed hands, gushes the sanctified rivers of Al-Khauthar
You are more pure than a virgin snowflake
My beloved Muhammad (Sal lallaahu Alayhi was salam)
All the angels of the Cosmos
glance at you lovingly
You glimmer as a perfect pearl of the timeless sea
You are the flame that ignited a fire in the essence of my soul.
A glow so dazzling that the Entire Solar System orbits around you like a firefly
the Entire Creation’s beauty resides in your smile
and I am a mirror, reflecting that elegance
I will never close my eyes.
Mustafa, peace and blessings be upon you,
you are so Precious a Beloved-
the jealous moon was humbled by your graceful face and split in half
The scent of the breeze of the summer days emanate from your hennaed tresses
The radiance of our dreams echoes your beauty’ which is a keepsake of every breathing life
Why search for another Star?
Or another leading torchbearer?
Oh shrouded one of Allah (Sal lallaahu Alayhi was salam), your Ummah are the highest fortresses of creation,
you are the Hope of those who are weak and frail
You are the Dawn of my vision
What I sense will always suffice for me.
Someday, If I am gifted a second of solitude with you
I will renounce the two worlds and dance forever.
On the beautiful night of the Me’raj, the exquisite Buraaq was at your stirrup,
Angel Jibraeel (Alayhi was Salaam) your sublime Guide,
Allah had to encounter your splendor once again,
It was The Marriage Ceremony Of Lover and Beloved-
you drew closer, piercing the Veil, into the throne of Allah
Surreal in your crown
What the flutter of your lashes did to Allah’s Breath
Even the stroke of a quill could not inscribe in the Heavens
The way you engraved calligraphy on Allah’s heart-
you are and always will be Allah’s Knight of the Celestial World
Oh Ahmad (Sal lallaahu Alayhi was salam), You and Al Siddiq (Radi Allahu Anhu) were inseparable in the darkness of Hira-
Just as the Moon and the Sun reside in each other’s silhouettes
You and Abu Bakr (Radi Allahu Anhu) were two shining beams that dazzled differently
but whose souls belonged to the same skies
We take heed all the time of the music of Allah’s love from the east to the west
By the intoxication of this song we are fleeting to the Arsh
Who has the power over us?
Before being placed on this planet we were in Allah’s embrace
We were companions of the houris.
That is our native soil, and we must return to our Motherland
How isolated are the gleaming diamonds of the godly world and the tainted world of this earthly ground?
Despite the eminence of your dignity, Allah placed you in this inferior land
To make unbelief and hypocrisy slip on the illuminated mantel-
The Burdah of Gentleness
Our world is never yours nor ours
We need to voyage
Your Jewels of Wisdom are our steers
Surrendering our life is our Allah -given right
And the Captain of our Ship is you, Ruh ul-Qudus , (Sal lallaahu Alayhi was salam)
the Prophet, of whom the entire universe envies.
Oh Musadiq (Sal lallaahu Alayhi was salam), your declarations are treasures from the seas of truth
Because your heart was enveloped in the waves of sincerity
Oh, Safi Ullah (Sal lallaahu Alayhi was salam), you are the perfect Loved one
My heart overflows endlessly with my love
An innocent love for the greatest of Messengers of my Allah
I testify you are the pathway and the destination
you are My intercessor, Oh Emperor of All Magnificence (Sal lallaahu Alayhi was salam),
Oh my Beautiful Muhammad, (Sal lallaahu Alayhi was salam), by your spirit I exist
But what is one life?
When you are endless breaths of mines
Oh Muhammad(Sal lallaahu Alayhi was salam), peace be upon you
Oh Ahmed, (Sal lallaahu Alayhi was salam), blessings be upon you
Oh Mustufa, (Sal lallaahu Alayhi was salam), love be upon you
Oh Beloved, (Sal lallaahu Alayhi was salam), the prayers of the Lover Allah be upon you

Great blog, sister.
How about posting the story of the King Tubba, who wrote a letter to the Prophet Muhammad (saw) 1000 years before the Prophet was born. It is a wonderful story.
Shaykh Tahir has translated it into English from one of the original Arabic sources. I’m sure he will only be too happy to send it to you.
Send me an email if you want his contact details. (He is also on Facebook)
King Tubba’s story would make up for a lot, in ‘sha Allah.
Thanks sister.

Assalam walaikum Sidra,
I have been reading your blog for the last 3 years. What brought me to your blog is name ‘Healing Hearts’ and the blog is very true to its name…
I find immense strength and peace on reading your posts and find myself closer to God, more so in difficult times of my life…
The best part is…although it is primarily as Islamic blog… I believe it can be read by people of any faith…It is very different from some of the other Islamic blogs which only widens the distance between God and his believers…
I am sure anyone who reads your posts irrepective of their faith, will realise that love and faith are the path to God realisation… we need to love God rather than fear him. It feels amazing to be in love… and your posts only help falling in love with God.
I thank God for guiding me to your blog…and thank you for the beautiful posts. I pray for your well being and happiness.
May God give you guidance in your noble works.
May God Bless you. Take Care.
